PLEASE NOTE – this course does NOT guarantee your success OR your license, there is a chance for failure of the program.


WHEN 

The 2-day Basic Rider Course is offered at our 2 locations from approximately 9 am to 6 pm each day:

  • Monday/Tuesday OR
  • Thursday/Friday OR
  • Saturday/Sunday

WHAT

To pass, and receive the NYS Road Test Waiver, students must successfully complete an online E-Course, complete the objectives of 14 riding exercises, and passing a riding skills test


NEW! Before coming to class, you must take an online E-Course. You’ll receive a link to the E-Course in your confirmation e-mail. The E-Course must be taken within 30 days prior to class. Bring the Certificate of Completion with you to class.


If you are 16-18 years old or have restrictions on your drivers license, check with NYS Department of Motor Vehicles regulations regarding motorcycle licensing. If you are under 18, a parent must stop in to the first classroom session to sign the participation waiver.


Course Completion Card + NYS Motorcycle Learners Permit = Road Test Waiver


Required for participation:

Valid NYS Drivers License required for all participants of any age – bring to class! 
Also, bring your NYS Motorcycle Permit, it is required to ride in the class.

** DUE TO COVID regulations, you must bring ALL YOUR OWN GEAR, including a DOT approved helmet.**

  • Valid NYS Drivers License required – bring to class!
  • NYS Motorcycle Permit – get this from DMV and bring to class.
  • Certificate of Completion from Online E-Course, taken within 30 days prior to class.
  • Minimal balance and physical fitness requirements. You must be able to ride a bicycle and be fit enough to complete a demanding program in ambient weather conditions.
  • Timely arrival for all sessions. Students arriving late will not be permitted to continue the program.
  • DOT approved helmet. We DO NOT provide helmets, you must bring your own.
  • Eye Protection
  • Long Sleeve Jacket or Shirt
  • Sturdy Long Pants (without rips/holes)
  • Full Fingered Gloves
  • Sturdy Over the Ankle Footwear

All safety equipment and clothing must be in good repair with no holes or tears.

Failure to come prepared to your class will result in a forfeit of your fees without attendance.


Recommended for participation:

You should bring with you any items needed to ensure your comfort and safety including snacks, drinks, medications, lunch, sunscreen, raingear and weather appropriate clothing. WE RIDE RAIN OR SHINE.

IMPORTANT! Cancellation Policy: To obtain a refund, you must cancel outside of 10 days prior to your class date; no cancellations or rescheduling within 10 days of your class. There is a $25 fee to cancel or to change class date. To cancel, you must call the office at 607-898-3339 Tuesday – Saturday.
