Basic Rider Course 2: License Waiver $225

PLEASE READ this entire page before registering for this class!


You must be 18 or older, have held a valid motorcycle permit for at least 1 year, and possess some street riding skills. You must bring your own motorcycle, with the NYS Motorcycle Registration, Insurance Card, and current NYS Inspection Sticker.


The Basic Rider Course 2 License Waiver is offered as a 1-day class on Saturday or Sunday, from approximately 8 am to 6 pm at our Groton location only.


To pass, and receive the NYS Road Test Waiver, students must successfully complete the Online E-Course, as well as completing the range exercises and passing a riding skills test.


Before coming to class, you must take an online E-Course. You’ll receive a link to the E-Course in your confirmation e-mail. The E-Course must be taken within 30 days prior to class. Bring the Certificate of Completion with you to class.

Course Completion Card + NYS Motorcycle Learners Permit = Road Test Waiver

Required for participation:

Valid NYS Drivers License required for all participants of any age – bring to class!

Also, NYS Motorcycle Permit is required for at least 1 year prior to class.

** DUE TO COVID regulations, you must bring ALL YOUR OWN GEAR, including a MASK.**

  • NYS Motorcycle Permit (must have held this for 1 year prior to class).
  • Certificate of Completion from Online E-Course, taken within 30 days prior to class.
  • Minimal balance and physical fitness requirements. You must have motorcycle street riding skills and be fit enough to complete a demanding program in ambient weather conditions.
  • Timely arrival for all sessions. Students arriving late will not be permitted to continue the program.
  • DOT approved helmet. Helmets are available for loan if needed.

  • Full Fingered Gloves
  • Sturdy Over the Ankle Footwear

All safety equipment and clothing must be in good repair with no holes or tears.


Recommended for participation:

You should bring with you any items needed to ensure your comfort and safety including snacks, drinks, medications, lunch, sunscreen, raingear and weather appropriate clothing. WE RIDE RAIN OR SHINE.
